Responding to the Paving Foreman, the Roller Operator is responsible for the protected and efficient operation of breakdown rollers, rubber tire rollers, and finish rollers. This role involves distributing, breaking down, compressing, and finishing the surface of cooling asphalt in multiple stages: breaking down asphalt with a breakdown roller, compressing it with a rubber tire roller, and applying the final finish with a finish roller. McMurray, and involves travel between both operational locations, accepting applicants from across Alberta. The company will provide and cover travel and accommodation costs for work-related travel outside the designated geographic area. Operate breakdown rollers, rubber tire rollers, finish rollers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently Adjust roller speed, pressure, and direction based on material compressibility, temperature, and project requirements to prevent ridges or surface imperfections Operatebreakdownrollers to massage and compress hot mix asphalt during theinitialcompaction phase Train and mentor new employees on the safe and effective operation of rollers and other construction equipment Assistwith other heavy equipment operations and general construction tasks asrequiredto support project goals High school diploma or equivalent Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a Driver's Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions Heavy Civil Construction or labor experience is an asset Note:
