Industrial Insulator, Full Time

MacKinnon & Olding has an immediate need for Insulators to join its team in Nova Scotia. This position is Monday-Friday (weekends as needed).

We offer on-the-job training.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES: What you will do

- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements
- Measure and cut insulating materials and coverings
- Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as method of securing the insulation
- Apply and secure insulation using appropriate installation methods
- Fit insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings
- Install vapor barriers and finish insulated surfaces
- Adopt safe working practices and promote safety awareness
- Maintain the condition, quantity, quality, and usability of all materials and equipment
- Anchor insulation with spot welded pins, tire wires, metal bands, screws, and other fasteners

QUALIFICATIONS: Your background

- Experience in insulation and sheet metal theory and practice
- Awareness of insulation jackets and high temperature applications
- Must be living in Nova Scotia and part of the local trade union
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance.
