About Mindseed Education

Mindseed Education is a French Immersion-focused education centre dedicated to supporting elementary students in developing confident communication skills, academic growth, and leadership abilities. Through language-based learning, enrichment programs, and small-group instruction, we help students grow into confident communicators and future leaders.

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable On-Call French Immersion Teaching Assistants to support our after-school and enrichment programs.

Position Overview

The On-Call Teaching Assistant will provide classroom support when needed, assisting our Lead Teachers in delivering engaging and meaningful learning experiences for elementary students (Grades K–7).

This position is ideal for university students, education professionals, French Immersion graduates, or individuals passionate about working with children and language education.

Responsibilities

- Support Lead Teachers during French Immersion classes and enrichment programs
- Assist students with classroom activities, reading, writing, speaking, and project-based learning
- Support small-group activities and student engagement
- Help prepare classroom materials and learning activities
- Encourage students’ confidence in communication and collaboration
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Provide additional classroom support during peak periods, special programs, camps,



or staff absences

Qualifications

- Interest in education, child development, psychology, or language learning preferred
- Experience working with elementary-aged children is an asset
- Responsible, patient, and able to work effectively with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous tutoring, volunteering, coaching, or classroom experience is an asset

Preferred Candidates

- UBC/SFU students in Education, French, Psychology, or related programs
- Future teachers or individuals interested in child development

Schedule

This is an on-call position. Hours may vary depending on program needs, including:

- After-school programs (weekday afternoons)
- Weekend enrichment classes
- School holiday programs and camps
- Occasional teacher coverage
