1.0 FTE Family Connections Worker - Enchant, Hays, Lomond and other rural communities as assigned - 37.5hrs/wk
Assignment 37.5hrs/wk: Monday- Thursday 8:00 a.m.-4:30p.m.
Three (3) Fridays 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
One (1) Friday 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Job Summary:
The Family Connections Program is designed to provide an integrated service approach to meet the mental, social, physical, and emotional needs of the students and their families.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include:
- Liaise with other resources/agencies and make necessary referrals
- Work directly with families in developing and implementing a family action plan
- Development and implementation of group programs
- Work closely with schools and related agencies as part of networking efforts for service delivery
- Collaborate and work as part of a team with the Family School Liaison Counsellor
- Coordinate Family Connection volunteers
- Classroom presentations around preventative mental health
- Summer programming
The preferred candidate’s qualifications include:
- A university degree or two-year diploma in a related field and experience working with groups and individuals
- At least 2 years working experience in addiction and mental health or health/human services related role (experience as a practicum student considered)
- Knowledge of addiction and mental health is required
- Working knowledge of community agencies and supports.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in working with all age groups
- Knowledge and understanding of the Low German Mennonite culture and language would be an asset.
- All professions must provide proof of licensure or registration or eligibility to be licensed with the approved Alberta regulatory college, prior to commencing duties where applicable
The salary range is from $52,167.42-$55,952.67
