ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)

- Successful completion of a two year Health Information Management Diploma
- Currently Certified with the Canadian Health Information Management Association
- Member in valuable standing with CHIMA, including completion of required CPE credits
- Minimum of one year recent related job experience
- Recent hospital coding experience preferred
- Intermediate skill in computer programs such as MS Office (Word,



Excel, Access, Powerpoint), and Internet (CIHI online query, Postal Code Lookup)

-Intermediate to advanced skill in Abstraction Software (Med2020- Winrecs)

- Demonstrated advanced skill in Folio (ICD-10-CA, CCI)
- Demonstrated knowledge of various applicable legislative acts (Public Hospital's Act, Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act)
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
- Understanding and knowledge of the complicated funding formula components (HIG, CMG, QBP) regarding Health Services Funding Reform
