Heritage Family Services provides therapeutic residential care for children and youth. Our philosophy is rooted in the OnePerson Paradigm and guided by the Six Principles of CARE (Children And Residential Experiences): relationship-based, competence-centered, ecologically oriented, trauma-informed, developmentally focused, and family involved.

Positions & compensation

Full time:

- Child Care Worker — starting at $20.64/hour
- Awake Night Child Care Worker — starting at $19.37/hour
- Live-In Team Lead — average monthly salary of $3,706.56

Live-In Team Lead note: The monthly salary listed above is an average. Actual monthly earnings may vary depending on the number of live-in rotations completed in the month.

Casual:

- Casual Child Care Worker — $20.64/hour

Scheduling

- Live-In Team Lead: 48-hour live-in rotation (includes an 8-hour sleep period per 24-hour shift)
- Awake Night: 3 on / 3 off, 12-hour shifts, 4 on / 4 off 12 hour shifts
- Child Care Worker: 3 on / 3 off rotation (Mon–Fri 8-hour shifts; Sat/Sun 12-hour shifts)

Casual shifts are offered based on operational needs and your availability.

Required qualifications

- 18 years of age or older
- Diploma/Degree in a related field OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus 2 years direct care experience
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C (Alberta-approved provider)
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to safely participate in crisis intervention and behaviour support strategies, as trained and required
- Team Lead / Live-In Team Lead preferred qualifications: Two-year diploma in a Human Services field and three (3)



years of relevant experience supporting children and/or youth. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Mandatory Requirements:

A Child Intervention Check that is dated within the last 6 months

Proof of eligibility to work in Canada

Class 5 Alberta Government Issued Driver’s License for 3 or more years in Canada

A Driver's Abstract that is dated within the last 6 months

Copy of education listed in resume.
