Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits to promote long-term oral health.
- Assist in diagnosing dental conditions by reviewing patient histories and clinical findings.
- Support the clinical team with procedures such as applying sealants or fluoride treatments.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental practice management software like Dentrix.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient questions, alleviating concerns,
and creating a positive experience for every visitor.
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure smooth daily operations and optimal patient care.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience working in a dental office setting, preferably with pediatrics or orthodontics.
- Proficiency with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual environments (English/Spanish or others).
- Experience in dental assisting is a plus but not required; willingness to support team efforts is essential.
- Familiarity with orthodontic procedures and pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
