Experienced Dog Handler Wanted

Paradise Kennels is looking for an experienced, hardworking dog handler to join our team full time. This is a hands on position working with multiple dogs every day, so previous professional dog handling experience is required.

We are a small, busy dog hotel caring for an average of 25 dogs. If you enjoy an active lifestyle, love working with dogs, and are looking for a rewarding career in animal care, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements

- Previous professional dog handling experience is required.
- You must be highly proficient at reading and understanding dog body language, communication, stress signals, and behavioral cues. This is essential for the safety of yourself, your coworkers, and the dogs in our care.
- Confident handling multiple dogs safely and efficiently.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while making protected, responsible decisions.
- Responsible, dependable, hardworking, and punctual.
- Physically fit and active. This is a hands on, physically demanding job.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Daily Responsibilities

- Cleaning kennels, runs, grooming room, and the facility.
- Feeding and caring for dogs.
- Walking, exercising, swimming, and playing with dogs.
- Bathing dogs and trimming nails.
- Driving our dog taxi when required.
- General landscaping and property maintenance to keep all outdoor areas clean, safe, and enjoyable for the dogs.
- Assisting with the daily operation of the facility.

Schedule

- Six day work week.
- Five days are approximately 6 hour shifts.
- One full day each week is a split shift to accommodate morning and evening dog care routines.
- Start date: August 15.

Live In Accommodation

This is a live in position.

Our facility is located on a quiet,



secluded acreage approximately 30 minutes from the nearest town with amenities and about one hour east of Calgary. Due to our location and the nature of caring for dogs, living on site is required.

You will have:

- Your own private bedroom.
- Shared bathroom.
- Full access to our large shared home.
- Rent, utilities, internet, and all household bills included at no cost.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys country living, loves dogs, and is looking for a unique career working with animals.

Significant

This is a fun and rewarding career, but it is also a position with a high level of responsibility. Working safely with multiple dogs requires confidence, experience, excellent observation skills, and sound judgment.

This position is not suitable for someone who simply loves dogs or has owned dogs as pets. We are looking for someone with proven experience confidently handling multiple dogs in a professional setting.
