The Welder-Fitter/Tank Builder is responsible for welding, assembling, fitting and installing metal pieces in accordance to relevant work orders and to ensure the welding codes and symbols are understood and welding conforms to the codes/Symbols on the drawings, and maintain the CWB inspection book.

Job Duties

- Read and follow work orders and manufacturing standards, production drawings and assembly instructions.
- Interpret engineered drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and the planning of tasks; Consult Production manager as needed.
- Assemble and fit metal components to form complete units or subunits using tact welding and other fabrication methods.
- Perform all welding tasks and related fabrication and finishing processes;
- Rig, hoist, and move materials within worksite.
- Understand all quality requirements for products and meet those requirements.
- Make adjustments to meet precise specifications (to keep in tolerance).
- Detect and report defective material to Supervisor;
- Complete any special projects as required. May be assigned to other areas of operation based on business or customer requirements;
- Observe all legislated H&S; regulations (including OHSA & WSIB) as well as establish workplace safety procedures.

Job Requirements

- 6 to 8 plus years is a Custom Stainless-Steel environment
- ASME or TSSA certification is REQUIRED




- Tank Building Experience is REQUIRED
- Able to work in a fast paced, custom and production environment while maintain quality.

· Welding Techniques: *Primarily* experience in TIG, on light to heavy gauge.

- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, technical drawings and procedural manuals.
- Possess good communication skills and teamwork attitude;
- Strong mathematical and mechanical skills required;
- Willing to work overtime as required;
- Able to multi-task projects and meet production deadlines,
- Ability to manually lift between 0 to 50lbs.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Qualified Forklift Operator REQUIRED
- Skills considered desirable
- Rolling, bending, Plasma Cutting, Drilling Techniques
- High level of organization and respect to company tools and machines
- Experience working off site locations
- Experience in MIG considered and asset
