Venor is proud to partner with Archibald Drilling & Blasting in their search for a Blasting Assistant to join their team in New Brunswick

This is an exciting opportunity that offers an excellent entry point into the drilling and blasting industry, with opportunities for hands-on training and career advancement. The Blasting assistant will work under the supervision of licensed blasters and can progress toward obtaining their Blasting License through on-the-job experience, mentorship, and completion of required certification programs.

The Blasting Assistant / Labourer plays a key role in supporting blasting operations by assisting certified blasters, preparing sites, handling materials, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed. This is a physically demanding role requiring attention to detail and a strong commitment to workplace safety.





Key Responsibilities:

· Assist the Blaster with loading, stemming, and detonating blast holes

· Transport and handle explosives and related materials in accordance with regulations

· Prepare blast sites, including clearing debris and setting up safety barriers

· Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition

· Follow all company safety policies and government regulations

· Monitor blast areas for safety and report hazards immediately

· Perform general labour duties as required on job sites

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in construction, quarrying, mining or blasting is an asset

· Valid driver’s license

· Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions

· Strong awareness of safety practices and procedures

· Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

· Willingness to travel and work flexible hours

Certifications (Preferred but not required):

· Blasting Assistant certification or relevant training

· WHMIS, First Aid, and other safety certifications

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
