Role Description The Steel Fabricator role is a full-time, on-site position based at Coastal Metals Ltd. in Beresford, NB. The Steel Fabricator will read and interpret drawings and specifications, measure and cut steel, and perform fitting, welding support, and assembly of structural components. Daily tasks include operating hand and power tools, grinding and finishing materials,



and preparing steel for blasting and painting as required. The role involves safely moving and positioning materials, working with material handling equipment, and collaborating with production staff to meet project timelines and quality standards. The Steel Fabricator will follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and contribute to continuous improvement in fabrication processes.
Qualifications

- Metalworking skills, including measuring, cutting, and fabricating steel components.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in steel fabrication.
- Experience with grinding and finishing steel surfaces to specified tolerances.
- Safe operation of forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Understanding of basic welding processes and working safely around welding operations.
- Knowledge of shop safety practices, PPE use, and adherence to safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Previous experience in steel fabrication or industrial manufacturing is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade or technical training in metal fabrication is an advantage.
