Job Responsibility:

Role Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented co-op student to join our Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team to help develop the next generation of cell and gene therapy (CGT) manufacturing technologies and processes. You will gain first-hand experience with industrial cell culture technologies and a strong appreciation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) manufacturing from technology transfer challenges for CGTs from academic and clinical research to a commercial setting. You will acquire the skills to understand the process of introducing innovative discoveries, leading to the delivery of cutting-edge solutions in cell and gene manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

- Assists in the preparation of new process technology transfer to GMP process improvements, including protocol generation, data analysis and report writing.
- Works effectively with other team members in a multi-disciplinary workplace.
- Supports writing technical documents, including standard operating procedures, project plans and reports.
- Develops and improves the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully support assigned projects.




- Assists and helps with colleagues' training, as necessary.
- Participates in cross-functional project teams to provide MSAT input and support.
- Understands that the role and responsibilities may change with the evolving needs of the organization, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in undergraduate education in industrial engineering, bioprocess engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology or similar.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Practical experience with computer programming, process modelling, databases and statistics.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and process development skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented team player.
- Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory safety plans and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal, provincial and local regulations.
