About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the strategic leader and senior operational executive of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and operations, including the development and implementation of the strategic plan, financial and risk management, and ensuring the alignment of the Executive Council's direction with organizational execution.
This role requires a values-driven leader with a clear commitment to the union's purpose and the members it serves, and experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, particularly within unionized healthcare, public sector, or not-for-profit contexts.
The Executive Director will also be a key representative and advocate, building strong relationships with government, employers,
and health system partners.
The ideal candidate for the Executive Director position at the company will have a background in labor relations, a thorough understanding of strategic planning, and the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans. They should be an authentic and principled leader, capable of fostering a culture of trust and inclusion, and have a proven track record in leading high-performing teams.
Robust political acuity, communication skills, and the ability to champion the diverse voices of the members are essential. A post-secondary education in a relevant field is considered an asset. The role demands a leader who is both a big-picture thinker and a practical problem solver, with the ability to navigate complexity and address conflict with empathy and clarity.
