Rate: $75-90/hr
We are looking for a Payments Expert who can operate in a techno-functional capacity, driving requirement definition and supporting end-to-end delivery across payment transformation initiatives. The role requires deep expertise in payment systems, ISO 20022 messaging, and hands‐on experience with payment engines such as Finastra GPP, along with strong documentation skills that suits an agile engagement.
Demonstrate strong expertise across payment rails including Fedwire, SWIFT (CBPR+), and Lynx.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation for payment transformation programs.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Support end-to-end delivery across design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post‐implementation stabilization.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on ISO 20022 and associated message formats, mapping, and validations.
- Configure and/or work closely with engineering teams on payment engines (e.g., Finastra GPP) and related integrations.
- Partner with business, operations, technology, and vendor stakeholders to drive alignment and resolve issues.
- Design and execute test strategies (SIT, UAT), including creation of test cases and defect triage.
- Document process flows, data models, and operating procedures; maintain high‐quality agile artefacts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and controls; support cutover planning and migration activities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven techno‐functional experience in payments with end‐to‐end delivery on transformation initiatives.
- Deep knowledge of payment systems and ISO 20022 messages (pain, pacs, camt), including mapping and validations.
- Hands‐on experience with payment engines, preferably Finastra GPP (design, configuration, or implementation).
- Robust expertise across payment rails: Fedwire, SWIFT (CBPR+), Lynx (Canada).
- Solid understanding of payment processing lifecycles, clearing and settlement, exception handling, and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in agile delivery (user stories, backlogs, sprint ceremonies) and high‐quality documentation.
- Effective stakeholder management, communication, and problem‐solving skills.
