Job Summary

Construction Managers are Dennis Group's project site supervisors overseeing daily construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, site safety programs, project schedule, and project budget. Our projects design and build food and beverage process facilities (industrial/MEP projects), requiring coordination with multiple engineering groups and designers/architects.

The role demands robust communication, meeting facilitation, and technical skills across various software programs.

Site Supervisory Responsibilities

- Daily supervision of construction activities, subcontractors, and site safety programs
- Oversight of any assigned field engineers or Junior Construction Managers (when directed)

Responsibilities

- Work autonomously on medium-sized projects
- Collaborate with project management to develop and update project scope, budget, and schedule
- Manage project accounting, budgeting, and cost control
- Establish and maintain site safety procedures in partnership with the safety team
- Oversee process, mechanical, and utility equipment installations
- Handle permitting, code, and regulatory administration and approvals
- Process change orders and general construction administration
- Coordinate field engineering and inspection activities
- Manage third‐party testing, inspection, and relationships
- Research construction management best practices
- Serve as client‐facing representative, collaborating with owners, subcontractors, building officials, and the A/E team
- Prepare and administer third‐party agreements
- Conduct jobsite walks/audits to ensure project progress and compliance with plans and schedule
- Procure project services and equipment (rentals, PPE, etc.)
- Manage project punch‐list inspection
- Promote continuous,



productive communication among all project participants
- Support and coordinate facility start‐up
- Prepare and maintain project reports and logs
- Work with subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance and identify alternative resources or options
- Review and maintain submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Collaborate with Project Controllers and Project Manager on supplier invoices and client billing responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations and permit application preparation
- Assist in preparing work plans, work packages, and interpreting drawings/specifications for field crews
- Coordinate project close‐out activities
- Handle safety responsibilities in various capacities
- Support talent growth within the organization, including coaching and/or mentoring when directed by the supervisor

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in construction science, building science, construction engineering, or a related field (strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of design‐build experience on industrial projects (strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of overseeing subcontractors and driving project schedules
- 5+ years of client interaction experience with strong technical, organizational, managerial, and communication skills
- 5+ years of progressively responsible job‐site experience on industrial building projects
- Fundamental understanding of all construction phases,



with ability to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and budgets
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (plus)
- Ability to travel up to 100% to projects throughout the USA and possible Canada
- Work schedule: 10 days onsite, 4 days off

Physical Requirements

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; prolonged periods standing and walking around project sites with uneven surfaces
- Traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in all weather types, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
- Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers
- Must be on‐call to address delays, emergencies, weather, and other site issues
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times

Travel Requirement

Projects are located throughout the United States and Canada. This is a site‐based position with a 10‐day on / 4‐day off work schedule. Projects typically last from 6 to 12+ months. Meals and lodging per diems are provided, along with reasonable travel provisions.

Up to 100% overnight travel is required based on project needs.
