Job Description Surgical Assistant Department: Department of Surgery Southwest Division of Surgery Organization: Saskatchewan Health Authority Posting Date: July 8, 2026 Position Profile The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Southwest Department of Surgery in Moose Jaw is seeking a Physician to join the Surgical Assistant team.

The successful candidate will support surgical services by providing peri-operative assistance to surgeons, contributing to secure, timely, and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities Provide surgical assistance across a range of procedures as required by the Division of Surgery.

Participate in scheduled operating room activities and related peri-operative care.

Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiology, nursing, and allied health professionals.





Participate in call or scheduled coverage as determined by service needs.

Comply with all SHA bylaws, policies, and skilled practice standards.

Compensation & Benefits Compensation model: Fee-For-Service Benefits and skilled expenses are the responsibility of the Physician unless otherwise specified in an agreement.

Job Qualifications Qualifications Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).

Demonstrated training and experience appropriate to providing surgical assistant services.

Strong interpersonal and team-based care skills.
