Stikeman Elliott LLP is seeking a business-savvy lawyer with an analytical and strategic mindset to join our General Counsel Office as Corporate Counsel .

The Corporate Counsel supports the General Counsel Office by drafting, negotiating and managing the Firms contractual arrangements including client engagement letters, Outside Counsel Guidelines and other service arrangements, and providing day-to-day advisory and compliance support to internal stakeholders.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of legal, compliance, and operational matters and is ideal for a lawyer looking to develop experience in overseeing national firm legal affairs.

Key Responsibilities Draft, review, negotiate, manage and interpret a wide range of contractual arrangements including:



Client engagement letters and Outside Counsel Guidelines Software and other IT Service Agreements Confidentiality / Non-Disclosure Agreements Event contracts Publication contracts Assist in drafting and updating internal policies and procedures Assist with regulatory filings and reporting requirements Advise on qualified responsibility and other compliance matters Assist in responding to client risk management questionnaires Help maintain corporate records and governance documentation Conduct research into changes to the legal industry that impact the firm and provide transparent, practical summaries and recommendations Support the firms Talent Management teams with advice on employment matters and best practices
