This is an in-office position; the selected candidate will be required to work out of our Waterloo, Ontario office.

Responsibilities

- Accountable for engineering across the full product lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of products that meet defined functional, cost, schedule, performance, quality, and reliability objectives.
- Promote a culture of technical excellence and innovation, encouraging experimentation, learning, and the application of emerging technologies into commercially viable products.
- Articulate the strategic vision and provide inspirational leadership to the engineering team and instill a sense of urgency and intense customer focus.
- Partner with Product, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, Sales, and leadership to convert company strategy into executable technical roadmaps.
- Provide clear, concise reporting updates to the General Manager and leadership teams as required.
- Develop and maintain departmental budgets.
- Perform other related duties to benefit the organization.

Qualifications





- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience, Masters or PhD preferred. MBA is beneficial.
- Background in AI, computer vision/robotics or calibration algorithms is beneficial.
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering organizations.
- Strong systems thinking across complex products involving software, hardware, mechanical, electrical, optical, quality, and manufacturing.
- Excellent execution discipline: able to convert strategy into priorities, roadmaps, staffing plans, budgets, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Credible technical judgment: able to ask robust questions, assess tradeoffs, challenge assumptions, and guide practical engineering decisions.
- Demonstrable ability to implement products using artificial intelligence.

Salary Range: CAD $225,000.00 – $275,000.00
