Overview Our client, a well-established full-service law firm in the Greater Toronto Area, is seeking an experienced Insolvency & Collections Lawyer to join its growing litigation and recovery team. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys managing complex debt recovery and enforcement matters while working directly with financial institutions, lenders, businesses, and insolvency professionals. Key Responsibilities Manage a broad range of insolvency, bankruptcy, debt recovery, and enforcement matters from inception through resolution. Represent secured and unsecured creditors in recovery proceedings, receiverships, bankruptcies, and restructuring matters. Advise clients on enforcement strategies, creditor rights, security realization, and risk mitigation. Draft and review pleadings, motions, enforcement materials, demand letters, settlement agreements, and related court documentation. Appear before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and other tribunals on contested and uncontested matters. Negotiate settlements with debtors, opposing counsel, trustees, and other stakeholders. Maintain strong client relationships while providing practical, business-focused legal advice. Contribute to business development initiatives and support the continued growth of the practice.



Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience practicing insolvency, collections, debt recovery, and enforcement law. Experience representing creditors, financial institutions, lenders, or commercial clients. Strong knowledge of Ontario enforcement procedures, insolvency legislation, and creditor remedies. Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills. Ability to independently manage files while collaborating effectively within a team workplace. Demonstrated commitment to exceptional client service and relationship management. Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
