We’re excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as Senior Electrical Designer.

This role owns electrical design for custom automation and robotic equipment from concept through build and commissioning. It is a hands-on senior design position with a strong focus on EPLAN, controls, safety circuits, and collaboration across engineering, panel shop, and site teams.

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Owning electrical design for custom automation and robotic equipment from concept through commissioning.
- Producing schematics, control panel layouts, and bills of material in EPLAN.
- Designing control panels, power distribution, servo and drive circuits, and machine safety circuits to applicable standards.
- Defining PLC and robot I/O along with field device wiring.
- Working closely with the controls team to support machine integration and startup.
- Ensuring designs meet electrical code and machine safety requirements, including CSA, UL, and related standards.
- Supporting panel shop and site teams through wiring, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Mentoring junior designers and reviewing their work.

Mandatory Requirements:

- Several years of electrical design experience in automation, special machine building, or a comparable equipment field.
- Strong EPLAN experience.
- Solid understanding of controls design, including hardwired panels.
- Strong experience with safety circuits.
- Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Strong understanding of PLC I/O modules and field wiring.




- Ability to run electrical designs independently and collaborate across disciplines.
- Experience working in custom automation.

Preferred Requirements:

- AutoCAD Electrical experience.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Experience in robotic equipment or special machine environments.
- Experience supporting panel shop or site teams during wiring and startup.
- Degree or diploma in a related field.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
