Complex Canada, represented in Canada by Ideon Media, is looking for a Social Editor to lead and evolve the voice of Complex Canada across all major social platforms. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the next chapter of Complex’s social presence in Canada — bringing the same energy, authority, and creativity that defines Complex globally, with a distinct Canadian perspective on music, culture and style. You’ll create and curate daily content across Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube Shorts ensuring Complex Canada’s music and culture coverage stays sharp, fast, and connected to the artists and conversations that matter most. What You’ll Do Lead the daily tone, voice, and output for Complex Canada’s channels, ensuring everything we post feels current, relevant, and unmistakably Complex. Create and publish original social content — from daily music news and meme-worthy moments to creator-driven clips, behind-the-scenes coverage, and artist interviews. Jump on trending moments, memes, and cultural conversations before they peak. Collaborate with Complex U.S. editorial, video, and design teams, as well as Ideon’s local creative and branded content teams. Manage community engagement, comments, and DMs, maintaining the Complex voice across platforms. Partner with internal teams on social extensions of branded and experiential campaigns, including Complex Canada originals and tentpole events. Help develop social-first creative around music, streetwear, sports, and pop culture that pushes boundaries and sparks conversation.



Track social analytics and performance trends to guide strategy and growth. Stay ahead of social and cultural trends — and make sure Complex Canada is leading them. Who You Are 2–4 years of social media or digital content experience with a publisher, brand, or agency. Deep understanding of Complex’s voice and culture, with a passion for music, fashion, and the intersection of art and lifestyle. Solid editorial instincts — knows what makes a headline hit, a clip go viral, or a story resonate. Comfortable working in a rapid-paced environment where culture moves quickly. Confident creating content for short-form video platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts). Excellent writing, judgment, and visual storytelling skills. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, or similar editing tools is an asset. Willingness to appear on camera and represent Complex Canada’s voice when needed. Available for occasional weekend or event coverage (award shows, drops, releases, etc.).
