As a Revenue Accountant at Prophix, you will be a key member of the growing finance team with responsibility for revenue accounting and invoicing for clients worldwide. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain accurate revenue accounting for your book of business. This position offers flexible accommodation for hybrid and remote workstyles.
What You Will Do
- Own the full invoicing cycle for your book of business: annual contracts, upgrades, professional services, and any other invoicing that is required
- Understand and execute the revenue accounting requirements of the signed agreements for your book of business
- Contribute to the month‑end close process, meeting all contract, invoicing, and reporting deadlines
- Build robust relationships across the company with sales, customer, legal, services, and accounts receivable teams to support accurate contract processing and invoicing
- Maintain the data integrity related to customer contracts across multiple systems of record, including Sage Intacct and Salesforce
- Maintain process and procedure documentation for your role while taking initiative to improve processes
- Support annual financial statement audits, both consolidated and regional, by working directly with external auditors to provide supporting documents and explanations
- Assist in company acquisition onboarding with respect to training and absorbing invoicing functions of acquired companies
- Support implementation projects from new system rollouts to enhancements as the tech stack expands and refines
- Stay up to date on quarterly release enhancements of our ERP system – Sage Intacct as it relates to your function
- Work closely with the revenue team to identify and resolve issues, collaborating openly, asking questions to get things right, and raising a flag whenever something looks out of the ordinary
- Perform other ad‑hoc duties as required
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a revenue accounting or similar role, preferably in a high‑growth tech company
- Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals, including debits/credits, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Familiarity with subscription billing models and SaaS metrics such as ACV, churn, and upgrades/downgrades and how these flow into revenue recognition
- Ability to interpret and process multi‑contract and complex billing scenarios with a high degree of accuracy
- Advanced Excel skills and hands‑on experience with cloud‑based ERP systems
- Strong communicator capable of clearly explaining revenue recognition conclusions to non‑accounting stakeholders
- Must be legally entitled to work in the country where this role is located
- Comfortable using AI tools responsibly to support tasks such as research, drafting, and data review
- Able to learn new tools and adapt as technology and workflows evolve
- Curious, open to new approaches, and motivated to continuously improve
- Collaborative mindset when working across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi‑product, multi‑currency, high‑volume SaaS invoicing environments
- Experience with Sage Intacct
- Experience with Salesforce
- Experience invoicing and working with companies across Europe considered an asset
Compensation
The total target compensation for this role is $60,000 CAD to $75,000 CAD, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, location, and internal equity.

Success Looks Like
- 30 days: Learn all invoicing scenarios, become familiar with the month‑end process and deadlines, and meet key colleagues.
- 90 days: Gain a thorough understanding of price books and contracts, identify review items for revenue accounting complexities, and continue developing inter‑company relationships.
- 6 months: Fully own your book of business and start contributing to process improvement efforts.
