About The OpportunityOur growing client in Ottawa West is looking for a progressive Director of Finance to join their fast‑paced, dynamic organization on a full‑time, permanent basis.This opportunity joins an organization that offers professional growth and development while being a key player in a collaborative, supportive team.DutiesOversee Accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely submissions, providing support as neededManagement of General Ledger and related dutiesPreparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements and financial reportingSubmission of tax remittancesCoordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain planning and control procedures and analyze report variancesRisk analysis and ad hoc analysis as neededPreparing month and year end closing, ensure transactions are complete, accurate, and properly documentedLiaising with auditors, taking an active role in internal and external audit, providing required reportingEnsuring compliance as well as implementation of policies and procedures,



monitoring for accurate and successful executionProvide mentorship and development for Accounting team through thoughtful evaluationWork closely with internal and external stakeholders and present financial reportsProvide contributions and recommendations regarding financial aspects of the business, communicating with Senior Management on financial variances and strategies, including developing long‑term growth modelsParticipate in other active projects and ad‑hoc reporting as neededAbout YouActive CPA designation in good standing7+ years of recent experience within a similar role for a medium‑to‑large organization; construction industry experience a strong asset3+ years of leadership of an accounting teamStrong oral, written, and communication skills in EnglishStrong problem‑solving skills, critical thinkingHighly organized, robust attention to detailExcellent interpersonal skills, self‑starter, collaborative – able to work with all levels of staffSalaryThe salary band for this opportunity is $125,000 to $145,000 depending on relevant previous experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
