The team The Lincoln Alexander School of Law is designed to create a different kind of lawyer - one who is equipped with the contemporary skills and legal experience required to respond to the evolving challenges in our society. The Opportunity The Lincoln Alexander School of Law (Lincoln Alexander Law) is looking for a Manager, Marketing that will manage and coordinate marketing, digital, and brand communication activities for the Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) Lincoln Alexander School of Law to support the visibility, reputation, and promotion of the law school and the university. Oversees the planning and implementation of approved marketing and communications projects, campaigns, and materials across a range of media, including digital platforms, websites, newsletters, e-blasts, promotional materials, and event graphics. Coordinates communications, media-related activities, and vendor supported initiatives in alignment with law school priorities and institutional guidelines. Oversees and coordinates the work of temporary and external resources, including agencies, freelancers, and service providers, to support the delivery of marketing and communications initiatives. Other Responsibilities Include Develops short-term marketing, outreach, public affairs and communication strategies that supports the vision and strategy,
working closely with the Director to identify resource requirements and budgets of the department’s communication and project plans. Oversees the coordination of visual and narrative content across law school programs to support quality, consistency, and alignment with the law school's brand identity and broader TMU standards, including developing creative concepts, marketing plans for initiatives. Manages and coordinates the preparation, creation, distribution, and inventory of marketing collateral (e.G. promotional items, event signage, releases, stories, e-blasts/newsletters, internal signage content, and window displays) to support the positioning of the law school, its programs, and courses for identified target audiences. Works with various stakeholders and external service providers to manage marketing assets (e.G. visual identity, branding, and design templates) and determine goals, media, content, design, production means, scheduling, and effective dissemination of marketing and communication material. Ensures that all internal and external promotional and communication materials communicate Lincoln Alexander Law’s identity, objectives and ensures editorial diversity and process efficiency. Manages and supervises staff, assigns and prioritizes tasks, establishes goals, sets expectations and evaluates performance. Hires, trains, develops and performance manages assigned staff. Monitors performance and provides feedback to staff on performance. Disciplines, carries out corrective action and makes recommendations on termination, as appropriate. Assesses and determines staff training needs and technology requirements, and provides staff with development opportunities, as required. Qualifications Completion of a post-secondary degree in in a relevant field (e.G. Business Administration, Marketing, Graphic design, Communications, Public Relations and/or Advertising); Minimum 5 years of relevant and progressive marketing and communication experience working in a dynamic work environment, developing, executing and evaluating high-calibre marketing and communication initiatives and strategies involving a variety of online and offline channels; Experience in a managerial role,
supervising and developing staff; Demonstrated skills and experience in new program promotion, market growth and retention strategies and customer service promotion; Experience in social media marketing, grassroots marketing and network initiatives Excellent command of contemporary technologies such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator is preferred, as well as the ability to streamline design variables in order to maximize output. Keen eye for effective creative design and a vision for creating compelling, visually appealing, concise and impactful marketing materials across multiple marketing channels (e.G. print, web, mobile, exhibit, events) Stakeholder management skills, including, networking and business relationship building skills Excellent public speaking skills; Leadership andmentoring skills; Knowledge of Internet capabilities and design; Excellent written and oral communications skills; Demonstrated production quotation (costing) and budgeting skills; Proven skills and knowledge of a broad range of marketing and promotion techniques Negotiating skills (with clients, suppliers, internal work teams); Organizationaland cooperative skills; Strong time management skills; Computerproficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.G.
