Consideration will be given to women, Indigenous people and persons with disabilities.An eligibility list may be created for similar positions and will remain in effect for 12 months.Candidates who do not meet all essential criteria may be considered on an underfill basis at a commensurate rate of pay.Introduction The Water Infrastructure Branch of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking qualified candidates for the role of a Flood Control Facilities Engineer.Duties The Flood Control Facilities Engineer is the lead engineer responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the control structures for the Red River Floodway, the Portage Diversion, the Shellmouth Dam, Fairford River and the proposed Lake Manitoba and Lake St. Martin Outlet Channels. The position provides specialized engineering services for the planning, design, and implementation of maintenance and rehabilitation projects for flood control structure and flood pumping facilities. The Engineer is also responsible for the safe and effective operation of these structures through the development of training programs and operating manuals and procedures.
