We are seeking an experienced iSeries Developer (ACBS) to support a new enterprise banking initiative. This is a staff augmentation engagement supporting a client delivery team within an Agile setting. The successful candidate will work on development, enhancement, and support of applications within an IBM i (AS/400) environment, with a strong focus on the FIS ACBS loan management platform .
This position is ideal for a highly self-motivated developer who can operate with minimal oversight, troubleshoot complex production issues, and contribute to modern development and deployment practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications within the IBM i (AS/400) environment
- Support and troubleshoot the FIS ACBS platform , including production support and issue resolution
- Develop and maintain applications using LANSA , CL , Java , and IBM i technologies
- Create and optimize DB2 SQL queries , stored procedures, and database objects
- Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to support ongoing project initiatives
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment activities, and release management
- Build and support DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines
- Integrate and support transmission technologies including MQ, web services, SSL certificates, and related middleware
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
- Contribute to modernization efforts while supporting core legacy systems
Required Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience within an IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) environment
- Proven experience programming, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications on IBM i
- Experience working with the FIS ACBS platform
- Strong experience with LANSA development
- Experience developing and supporting DB2 for IBM i databases
- SQL
- Stored Procedures
- Experience developing with:
- CL (Control Language)
- Java (Windows-based development with deployment to IBM i)
- Experience building and supporting DevOps pipelines utilizing tools such as:
- GitHub
- Jenkins
- Nexus
- Similar CI/CD technologies
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables
Additional Technical Experience
- Exposure to transmission and integration technologies, including:
- IBM MQ
- SSL Certificates
- Web Services
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Capital Markets industry experience
- Experience supporting large-scale banking or financial services environments
- Exposure to modernization initiatives involving legacy IBM i platforms
