- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements for layout.
- Weld large and small components such as copper plumbing, beams and pipes.
- Use specialized machines for industrial welding and monitor machines that do similar work.
- Maintain and repair all machines.
- Evaluate surfaces, structures, and components to be welded to identify defects.
- Follow and enforce strict safety rules such as wearing heat‑resistant gloves, protective masks, and protective shoes.
- Monitor machinery for proper use and temperature.
- Solder flat, vertical and overhead components.
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures for defects.
- Store devices in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Repair machines and other parts by welding parts and filling gaps.
- Weld parts using manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment in different positions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid welding certificate from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a welder.
- Excellent knowledge of welding machines, electrical equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Special attention to detail.
- Proven experience as a welder.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and processes.
- Experience using power or hand tools.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
- Dexterity and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Knowledge of metallurgy.
- Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques.
Perks & Compensation
- Terms of Employment: Full‑time Permanent Position.
- 40 hours per week.
- Day and weekend work required.
- Years of Experience: 1 to 2 years in welding or related field.
- Salary: $30.00 - $41.54 per hour.
