Senior Project Manager, Building Science – Calgary, AB

EXP is a leading engineering, architecture, design, and consulting services firm.

We seek a Senior Project Manager to work with our Building Science Manager in Calgary to lead projects and deliver consulting engineering services.

Responsibilities

- Lead project teams delivering consulting engineering services to clients
- Undertake building investigations and field reviews for design, repair, and restoration
- Monitor and manage project tasks, budgets, and schedules
- Prepare proposals and pursue new work
- Prepare building investigation reports and construction documents
- Provide technical advice and guidance to clients and direct project teams
- Mentor, coach, and develop employees through daily project work
- Manage contract administration and quality of restoration projects through the construction stage, including contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and standards are met
- Communicate effectively with clients by keeping them informed of site issues impacting project quality and resolving issues quickly

Qualifications

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field
- 8–10+ years’ experience in the Building Science industry, including new construction and building envelope restoration




- Experience with parking structure condition surveys (asset)
- Experience as a prime consultant on projects (asset)
- Registered with APEGA or AAA
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Motivated self‑starter with ability to work independently and within a team
- Robust organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail
- Must be able to meet project deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Organized and works well under pressure; able to handle situations with tact
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- LEED Accreditation and PMP an asset
- Experience with suspended access equipment (work from heights) an asset
- Knowledge of current energy requirements in building codes and energy modelling
- Some regional travel may be required
- Experience in the building envelope, curtain wall, or fenestration industries is desired
