Overview Hamilton, SWO – Senior Structural Engineer, P.Eng. WSP is currently seeking an ambitious, dynamic and innovative Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering Group, located at our Hamilton office. This position will be responsible for working with a multi-disciplinary team to take innovative design solutions from proposal stage through to constructed projects for clients in a wide variety of sectors. This role will primarily focus on acting as a Structural Technical Lead and Project Manager for the Structural discipline on multi-disciplinary projects. This role will primarily focus on acting as a Technical Lead and Project Manager for the Structural discipline on multi-disciplinary projects in the Southwestern Ontario region. This role will include a client facing component and require knowledge of project management best practises.What you'll do at WSPLead structural design for small and medium sized projectsWork with a project team to deliver large projects responsible for structural technical content, planning resources for the project, coordination, and client relationshipsPerform engineering calculations and assessments for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structuresPerform calculations using latest design software and advanced finite element modelling underpinned by a sound understanding of basic principlesDemonstrate strong knowledge of both the OBC and NBCManage and coordinate projects with clients, architects and other disciplines as necessaryOversee the execution of efficient and accurate project deliverables to exceptional standardsOversee preparation of detail drawings, sections and standard details, specifications, and ensure quality deliveryWrite technical reportsConduct field reviews, inspections,



and condition assessmentsPrepare proposalsMentor other technical staff and aid in developing the next generation of talentHave fun developing innovative and elegant solutions for new and existing structuresApproach all projects with curiosity and innovation through a client centric lensA proactive approach to diversity and inclusion, both in the work environment and in developing designsAdvance the notion of computational design and interactions between graphical and analytical structural modelsParticipate in and sometimes lead the identification and subsequent winning of strategic company opportunities. Leverage existing networks and develop recent relationships to support and advance the winning of this work.Interact with other WSP Canada offices to ensure national alignmentOccasional travel within Canada for project related work, site assessments and site supportOther duties as assigned/requiredWhat you bring to WSPBachelor's or Master's Degree in Structural EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer with PEO10+ years' experience in Structural EngineeringDesign experience on a variety of project types including some of the following – institutional, healthcare, science, transportation, industrial or the private sector commercial or residential.Experience in transportation and/or industrial sectorsDisplay a value-adding attitude through energetic, creative and disruptive thinking within a solution-driven environment.Pro-active, energetic, highly responsive and client-centricDedicated team player with strong people skills, empathetic mindset and service excellence.Excellent organizational and technical writing skillsValid driver's licenseVALUE ADDCreative and innovative – prepared to put out of the box ideas forwardHas experience with light industrial and/or infrastructure projectsComfortable with failure in a supportive environmentListen respectfully,
