Location: This position focuses on Demathieu Bard's projects within the GTA/Southern Ontario. The head office for Ontario is located in Peterborough, with a satellite office at 65 Queen St West, Toronto (Thomson Building).

Experience in building or rehabilitating heavy civil transportation infrastructure (often involving water, such as bridges, canals, dams, culverts, cofferdams and similar) is required.

Job Summary Reporting to the Vice President of Ontario, the Senior Project Manager will lead a team of project managers, engineers, project coordinators and site superintendents to plan and deliver medium to large civil construction projects. The role focuses on safety, project execution, scheduling, budgeting, and client relationship management to ensure timely, on‑budget project delivery.

Salary range: $140—170 K annually.

Responsibilities Management - 50%

Ensure all projects meet anticipated schedules, stay within budget, meet client expectations and are executed at the highest level of quality.

Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements.

Prepare and manage project budgets, construction schedules, milestones and monitor progress.

Tender, review, approve and award sub-trades in conjunction with Estimator; coordinate sub-trade work activities.

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations with Site Superintendents to ensure quality control.

Develop quantity and material take‑offs for estimation and budget preparation.

Direct the purchase of building materials and equipment.

Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with the OH&S; Act and COR standards.

Review and approve supplier and subcontractor invoices and weekly timesheets for field workers.

Manage and execute the Contemplated Change Order (CCO), Change Order (CO) and Change Directive (CD) processes, responding to client timelines and contract specifications.

Technical - 25%





Provide direction for construction methodologies and guide designers in detailed design and construction drawing preparation.

Prepare technical specifications for construction services, utilities and works.

Analyse and provide feedback on reports, designs and analysis completed by third parties, including engineering firms, architects and technical consultants.

Prepare and lead the execution of the project environmental management plan, covering waste management, contaminant management, water and soil protection, and mitigation of impacts to wildlife and species at risk.

Oversee civil quality control and quality assurance programs, including material testing (aggregate and concrete) and quality assurance programs (site survey benchmarks, reinforcing steel inspections, installation tolerances, etc.).

Communication - 25%

Represent the company in direct communication with clients, project stakeholders, regulatory bodies, partners and the general public.

Maintain effective communication with senior management and the project team, ensuring relevant project updates are delivered effectively.

Prepare technical documents, meeting minutes, project progress status reports and change order summaries.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, architects, designers, provincial/municipal inspectors, site superintendents and sub‑trades.

Ensure site superintendents are current with on‑site project documentation, including legislative requirements.

Qualifications Required Education/ certifications

BSc/BA in engineering, civil construction or equivalent relevant project experience.

PMP certification with PMI.

Experience And Technical Knowledge

15+ years as a construction project manager with specific experience managing large civil construction projects exceeding $25 million.

In‑depth understanding of construction procedures,



materials and project management principles.

Knowledge of federal and provincial health and safety regulations.

Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings and plan sets.

Advanced understanding of risk management and mitigation.

Extensive experience in managing budgets for large construction projects.

Driver's license and personal transportation.
