About The Role
NFP’s Individual Solutions Division offers life insurance, living benefits, long‑term care, and individual health and dental coverage. We need a dedicated Client Service Associate to manage the ongoing service needs of our existing insurance policyholders. Your primary focus will be providing exceptional customer service on in‑force requests, ensuring policy accuracy, and addressing any client inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally. The role also includes client service functions such as policy changes and stakeholder management between advisors, carriers, and clients.
What You’ll Do
- Enter recent insurance applications into carrier portals ensuring all necessary information is complete and accurate.
- Place and track medical orders, working with vendors and applicants to schedule and complete required medical tests.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers to fulfill additional requirements such as underwriting requests, medical records, and other documentation needed for policy approval.
- Track and monitor the status of each case, providing regular updates to internal teams, advisors, and clients as needed.
- Maintain and organize all case‑related documentation, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
- Identify and resolve any issues or delays in the application process, working proactively to keep cases moving forward.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, answering questions and addressing concerns related to the application process.
- Work with underwriting teams to obtain preliminary opinions.
- Enter underwriting and policy data into Sales Force.
- Collaborate with proposed insureds and carriers to obtain Attending Physician Statements (APS).
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Typically, 2+ years of experience in administration and servicing individual insurance products (Life, disability, etc.) or experience in medical office administration.
- Sound knowledge of industry trends and insurance carrier products is a plus (e.g., RBC, Manulife, Canada Life).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to manage a high‑volume workload in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
- Proficient in collaborative teamwork while also demonstrating strong independent work capabilities.
- Ability to think critically, problem‑solve, and develop solutions beyond the surface.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
- Proven experience providing excellent client service predominantly through email communication.
- Service‑oriented mindset—no task too small.
