Effective for the school year, a vacancy for a Carpentry Instructor exists within the Division of Career, Technical, & Customized Education at the Technical College High School - Pickering Campus.

Qualifications

- Possess a valid PDE Vocational I or II certificate or be willing to enroll in a certification program.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of carpentry is required.
- In addition to the minimum PDE certification requirements; candidates should possess relevant industry certifications.
- Current FBI fingerprints, PA State Police, and Child Abuse clearances, dated within one year.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide quality and rigorous occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path related to industry.
- Program development and modify curriculum to stay relevant.
- Implement lesson plans and hands‑on activities that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of each student.
- Support students in learning industry standards.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep accurate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Collaborate with school‑based staff on common course planning, integration, and alignment.




- Develop and maintain a productive Occupational Advisory Committee.
- Consistent and effective program recruitment.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain appropriate professional certificate(s) and licenses as required.
- Remain current in educational programs related to content area while providing the best educational experience possible for students.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.

- $64,834 - $93,324 - Instructional II Certification
- $69,353 - $101,911 - Master’s Degree
- $72,740 - $105,924 - Master’s + 15
- $74,415 - $107,845 - Master’s + 30

Schedule

- Monday through Friday; 7.5 hrs per day; 10 months; 194 days
