About The Opportunity We are looking to hire a Senior Mine Engineer to join our Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON , on a full-time basis. The standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 hrs/day or 4 on, 3 off, 10 hrs/day. A hybrid on-site/remote schedule may be considered for the right candidate, with weekly on-site presence expected. In this role, the Senior Mine Engineer will carry out and oversee engineering tasks in mine planning, ground control, ventilation, longhole drill & blast, survey, and coordinate tasks with operational personnel to support production schedules. Responsibilities Supervise, train and mentor planners, EITs, Mine Technicians and co-op students within the Engineering department. Provide technical leadership and operational expertise to the Engineering and Operations Team. Oversee, coordinate and prepare engineering deliverables including short/medium/long-term planning and scheduling, infrastructure and ventilation designs, geotechnical analyses, reconciliations, and reporting. Assist with developing,
optimizing and implementing medium-term mine plans to meet budget and long-term objectives safely and economically. Develop, optimize, and implement long-term planning and scheduling (reserves and life of mine), infrastructure and ventilation designs, geotechnical analyses, reconciliations, and reporting. Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings with key personnel to coordinate activities and meet goals. Assist in developing the annual mine site budget and quarterly forecasts with stakeholder support. Contribute to month-end engineering reports and stope reconciliations. Lead and coordinate special projects with Mine Operations and Contractors, including planning, scheduling and budgeting. Monitor compliance with applicable engineering codes, regulations, safety and environmental practices, and performance standards. Troubleshoot problems, analyze options, and implement solutions to keep mining on plan. Evaluate alternative ore extraction methods with cost-benefit analyses and present recommendations to the team. Contribute to policies and procedures within the Engineering department and Mine Operations. Participate in training, career development and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain knowledge of current methods and technology relevant to mining engineering. Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications To qualify, you will need Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario (or be actively working toward it)
along with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation . A minimum of 5 years of underground hard rock mining experience (preferably gold) is essential. The following skills and background are highly valued: Experience supervising and mentoring engineering teams, including EITs, technicians, and co-op students Strong background in narrow-vein, longhole, and conventional mining methods Proficiency with Deswik, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) Experience with underground water management, seismic systems, and paste fill Strong understanding of mine planning, scheduling, and engineering best practices Experience working closely with operations teams in a production-focused environment As the ideal candidate, you are a strong leader and mentor with excellent communication and organizational skills.
