Role Description

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a full time, on-site role based in Red Deer, AB. The CEO will provide overall leadership and direction for Maskwacis Cultural College, overseeing strategic planning, finances, operations, and academic and community initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding organizational strategy, managing budgets and financial performance, supervising senior staff, and ensuring effective operational processes. The CEO will work closely with the Board, community partners, and other stakeholders to advance the College’s mission, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and support program growth. The role also involves representing the College in external forums,



fostering partnerships, and promoting a positive, inclusive organizational culture.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated skills in Finance and Business Planning, including budgeting, financial oversight, and long‑term organizational planning.
- Proficiency in Operations Management and Strategic Planning to lead day‑to‑day functions and guide the institution’s long‑term direction.
- Experience in Sales, stakeholder engagement, or partnership development to support enrollment, funding, and community relationships.
- Proven leadership experience in education, non‑profit, or community‑focused organizations, with solid decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of or commitment to Indigenous education, culture, and community engagement; prior experience in Indigenous‑serving institutions is an asset.
- Relevant post‑secondary education in business, public administration, education, or a related field; an advanced degree is considered an advantage.
