Responsibilities

- Provide care to residents according to their care plans and assist in identifying resident needs.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Monitor care in accordance with the established plan of care by observing residents and reporting findings to the immediate supervisor.
- Assist in documentation of information pertaining to resident care as directed.
- Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as directed.
- Assist in onboarding of new staff as directed.




- Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.

Qualifications

- Graduate of Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
- Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
- Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
- Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.

Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents. Understanding of valuable sanitation and clean techniques. Knowledgeable about the needs of geriatric residents.
