Key Responsibilities
- Review and make decisions on development permit applications
- Investigate zoning complaints and by-law violations
- Conduct planning research and policy work
- Prepare reports and recommendations
- Support long‑range department planning initiatives
- Collaborate with team members on policies, projects & development permits
Qualifications
- University degree in urban and regional planning or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in planning or a related field
- Full or candidate membership in good standing with CIP and APPI
- Proficiency with industry‑standard software such as ArcGIS and 2‑D/3‑D rendering software
- Relationship‑building skills, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Valid NWT Class 5 Driver's License
Salary
The City of Yellowknife offers a salary of $99,541 per annum plus perks as outlined in the Public Service Alliance of Canada Collective Agreement.
