Job Title: Conventional Machinist

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM

Job Overview:

Advantage Personnel is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Conventional Machinist to join our client in New Glasgow. This role is ideal for a hands-on tradesperson who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a shop environment focused on quality, safety, and craftsmanship.

You will be responsible for machining and repairing components using manual equipment to support a wide range of industrial and mechanical applications.

Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate milling machines and lathes
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Produce precision components to exact specifications
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards
- Assist with machine setup for production processes




- Support and guide apprentice team members as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years of machining experience
- Robust understanding of milling and lathe operations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Machinist trade certification preferred (3rd and 4th year apprentices will be considered)
- Knowledge of materials and machining processes
- CNC experience is considered an asset
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Preferred:

- Red Seal Machinist certification (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in industrial repair or custom fabrication environments
