Role Description The Journeyman Carpenter is a full time, on-site role based in Victoria. This role involves performing a wide range of carpentry tasks, including finish carpentry such as trim, doors, and cabinetry. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans, measuring and cutting materials, operating power and hand tools, and ensuring work meets building codes and company standards.



The Journeyman Carpenter will collaborate with site supervisors and other trades, maintain a clean and safe work area, and help train and support less experienced carpenters as needed.

Qualifications

- Strong carpentry skills and experience working on residential construction projects.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Hands-on experience with framing, including layout, structural assembly, and installation.
- Competence in finish carpentry, including detailed trim work, doors, windows, and cabinetry.
- Journeyperson-level trade certification or equivalent experience in carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building specifications.
- Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and best practices on construction sites.
- Reliable transportation to job sites within the Greater Victoria Metropolitan Area.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
