Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their finance team on a 12-month contract in Toronto . This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly analytical CPA with a strong foundation in public accounting, public company reporting, and internal controls.

The successful candidate will bring Big 4 public accounting experience , expertise in SOX compliance , and hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP . This position works closely with senior finance leadership and plays a critical role in financial reporting, month-end close, audit support, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting working papers
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and public company reporting requirements
- Manage and maintain SOX internal controls and documentation
- Partner with external auditors and coordinate annual audit activities
- Perform complex account reconciliations and financial analysis
- Review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A;, Tax, and Operations
- Utilize NetSuite ERP for financial reporting, reconciliations, and system improvements
- Assist with special projects and corporate finance initiatives as required

Qualifications

- CPA designation (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce




- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience working within a publicly traded company
- Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls
- Hands-on NetSuite ERP experience
- Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced workplace
