In this existing position you will work on a variety of technical and engineering assignments including design, drafting, analysis, and report writing. You will play a key role leading a team of designers and engineers on projects related to mechanical engineering for heavy automated equipment utilized in the Aluminium Smelting industry. Projects will be related to mechanical engineering for heavy automated equipment utilized in the Aluminium Smelting industry.Your Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design and optimization of systemsCreation of 2D layouts as a basis for Basic+Detail engineeringCreation of 2D drawings and schematics using Autodesk AutoCAD or InventorCreation of 3D models using Autodesk InventorPreparation of design calculationsCreate Part Numbers in the PCS and VAULT systemSupport the generation of component specifications and purchasing requestsInterface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assemblyCreation of O&M manuals, BOMSAssist with the creation of project‑related documentation and design specificationsWork with other engineering disciplines (e.G. process, electrical, software) to ensure integrated and well‑functioning products and systemsEnsure all designs and manufacturing processes adhere to legal and company safety standards, quality requirements, and industry best practicesSupport sales providing layouts, calculations, bill of quantities, etc.Follow established work procedures and instructions as per ISO 9001 standardFollow established HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) regulationsRequirementsQualifications/Who you are:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or diploma eligibility within an accredited programMinimum 7-10 years of experience in designing custom made equipment for the Primary Aluminum Smelter or similar industriesProficient in Autodesk ACAD or InventorExperience working with PDM (preferable Autodesk VAULT) and ERP softwareReading, understanding and creation of pneumatic/hydraulic schematicsKnowledge of electrical actuating systems as used in automated equipmentPreparation of design calculations (hand-calculations)Robust English verbal and written communication skillsStrong ability to lead through collaboration and mentor team membersStrong problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilitiesStrong mathematical skillsEfficient time managementStrong mechanical/electrical aptitude and knowledgeAbility to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to continuous improvement processes.Willingness to travel internationallyREEL Aluminium is located in Burlington, Ontario, and offers a competitive compensation ($100 000$ to $120 000 annually according to experience) as well as a wide range of benefits (pension fund with employer contribution, full group insurance, personal leave days, etc.).#J-18808-Ljbffr
