Our HR team is seeking a full-time, Human Resources Coordinator for a 17-month contract based in Toronto to assist in supporting the 400 Support and Operations employees in our offices. Reporting to the Manager, People Operations & Programs, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, energetic and team-oriented individual who is looking to join a collaborative team of HR professionals and contribute to human resources programs and initiatives in a professional services environment. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, working from your home office and McMillan’s Toronto office in the heart of downtown Toronto location. What You’ll Do Join a high-performing team and support a variety of HR tasks and projects. Coordinate various employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, changes and departures. Participate in the development and planning of HR events and initiatives and coordinate their execution (e.G., firm celebrations, employee appreciation events, service recognition programs). Administer and process all employee changes including departures, contract extensions, salary and position change correspondence. Conduct orientation sessions and coordinate onboarding activities for new hires. Work with the HR Management team on process improvement initiatives to maximize department efficiency. Provide support to the Manager, Disability, Wellness & Benefits in planning and coordinating wellness initiatives at local and national levels. Complete timely HR data processing activities in HRIS. Assist in administration of national performance management processes.
Respond to general HR inquiries regarding policies and programs. Assist with a variety of HR tasks including drafting employee correspondence, position change letters, memos, etc. Coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committee activities. Provide support on various national and local office HR projects, as required. What You’ll Bring Your degree or diploma in Human Resources (or related field) will be put into action. Experience in a client-centric, fast-paced, skilled work environment to support a smooth transition. Advanced administrative skills and strong aptitude with technology, including Office 365 and established HRIS systems. Proactive, creative, and flexible approach—especially for process improvement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor. Ability to handle sensitive information with diplomacy and sound judgment.
