POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Junior Group Perks Consultant is responsible for managing relationships with an assigned block of clients. This individual will be responsible for meeting with clients regularly in order to review their group benefits plan designs and claims experience. The Junior Group Benefits Consultant is required to service their block of clients to the best of their ability as well as drive growth in the company through various methods of prospecting. The Jr. Group Benefits Consultant is expected to provide ongoing customer support to their assigned block of clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in conjunction with the Group Benefits Analyst/Customer Care Coordinator to assist plan members/plan administrators by answering product and service questions concerning their group perks plan.
- Manage relationships with assigned block of clients in order to ensure a high persistency rate.
- Resolve customer complaints quickly and tactfully. Escalate complaints as required by company policy if a resolution cannot be made personally.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of product/services offered by various group insurance carriers.
- Present renewal and claims experience reports to clients on an annual basis and meet with them based on the agreed upon servicing level.
- Provide information to customers and the public concerning goods, services, schedules, rates,
regulations and policies in response to telephone and in-person inquiries.
- Educate plan members/administrators on all aspects of their benefit plan.
- Have the ability to negotiate rates and/or contract terms with Insurance Carriers
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Education: Completion of Secondary School. Completion of some college or other post-secondary programs preferred. A GBA/CEBS designation is strongly preferred.
- Minimum Experience: At least 5 or more years of experience in the group insurance field
- Other insurance designations are considered an asset.
- Excellent customer service.
- Thorough knowledge of group insurance products and/or services.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Maintain a high level of knowledge in the Group Insurance Industry (staying abreast of changes in legislation, product offerings, plan rules, etc).
- Experience with Marketings or RFPs (Request for Proposal) considered an asset
