High School Math & Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted - August 2026 Start

Must have Canadian curriculum teaching experience.

No international or out-of-province applications will be considered.

Motivated by mathematics? Sharp with science? Excited by equations in both fields? Eager to help students succeed in math and science?

Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience. Oxford Learning Mississauga Central is currently seeking part–time teacher–tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher–tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre–planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Requirements

- Strong background in math and all sciences (biology, chemistry, physics).
- Teaching students in grades 9–12, at all levels.
- Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum.
- Must be available Monday–Thursday 4pm–8pm, and Saturday 10am–2pm. Commitment for the whole school year preferred.
- Job is in‑person; relocation packages are not available.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.

Experience





- Experience teaching or tutoring math and science at grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Teach in both online and in‑person settings.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Complete post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and qualified manner at all times.

Job type: Part‑time

Schedule

- Evenings (4pm–8pm).
- Monday–Thursday: pick either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs shift.
- Saturdays (10am–2pm).
