Job Description Union: CUPE TRI Number of Vacancies: 1 New or Replacement Position: Replacement Site: Toronto Rehab - Lyndhurst Centre Department: Environmental Services Reports To: Manager Hours: 15 Hours/Bi-Weekly Shift: 7:00pm - 11:00pm Rotating Weekends Salary: $27.30 - $27.60 per hour (start rate is non‑negotiable) Status: Permanent Part‑Time Closing Date: January 15, 2026 Duties Perform cleaning duties - collecting garbage, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, disinfecting, and washing of specific areas. Disinfects complete bed unit. Maintains supplies and equipment; replenishes supplies inwashrooms, receiving and checking cleaning supplies, cleaning, and tidying utility rooms. Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining floors Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining assigned areas Perform project work, which includes wall washing, high dusting, vacuuming, stripping, and waxing of floors as needed Collecting, packaging,
and disposing of garbage Responsible for set‑ups, replacing materials and frequent moving of equipment and furniture Attend required education and safety training Attend staff meetings Assist in training of recent personnel in all required job functions Any other related duties as required Compliance with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies, and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients Qualifications At minimum completion of high school or recognized equivalent 3 months to less than 6 months practical and related experience and/or 3 months to less than 6 months on the job training Ability to use tools and equipment common to the work being performed including vacuum, dry mop, squeegee, space sweeper, etc. Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.) Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including lifting 11 kg to 20 kg Ability to read, write and speak English fluently to understand verbal work orders and/or instructions Ability to understand material such as short notes, brief forms and/or instructions Ability to do simple mathematical calculations (e.G. adding, subtracting, etc.)
