About The Role

The Senior IT Support Specialist at Penske Truck Leasing is a vital member of the IT team, responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network infrastructure across multiple locations in Canada. Based in Kitchener, ON, this role involves supporting both the local office and remote sites, acting as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, maintenance, and asset management. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key projects, enhance IT service delivery, and develop expertise within a global organization.

Qualifications

- An associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is preferred. Advanced certifications such as A+, Cisco, and Network+ are highly desirable.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in IT support and infrastructure management.
- At least three years of hands-on experience as a PC Service Technician, including building, repairing,



and deploying computers.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Windows operating systems on laptops, desktops, and tablets.
- Experience supporting various cell phone models and operating systems.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including routers, switches, and IP configuration, is preferred. Server experience is a plus.
- Ability to work full-time with predictable attendance on-site, with willingness to travel as needed (estimated 5-10% annually).
- Must successfully complete a Penske employment application, background check, and drug screening prior to employment.
- Strong communication, analytical, decision-making, and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

- Support and maintain hardware and software for the Kitchener office and remote sites, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to computers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and telecommunication systems.
- Manage IT assets, including equipment deployment, disposal, and recycling, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Act as the local IT contact, collaborating with network and communications teams to report issues, perform hardware swaps, and power cycling in the main computer room.
- Provide remote and on-site support to end-users, ensuring timely resolution of technical problems and exceptional customer service.
- Work closely with the IT Service Desk and PC Shop teams, escalating issues when necessary and assisting with escalated tickets requiring hands-on intervention.
- Participate in various IT projects, including planning, research,



and implementation, with opportunities for travel across Canada.
- Support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and IP configurations, and assist with server-related tasks when required.
- Maintain documentation of support activities, hardware inventory, and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices to recommend improvements and innovations.
