Position Summary
We are looking for a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our Finance team. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Tax and is responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, complex journal entries, and annual audited financial statements. The analyst will also prepare accounting position papers, conduct journal entry analyses, and support corporate audit requests.
Responsibilities
- Support the month‑end and year‑end close process including preparation of working papers, journal entries, and associated analyses for specific financial reporting items.
- Prepare accounting position papers (e.g., IAS 38), research and draft memos to file.
- Maintain organized, audit‑ready files with appropriate documentation that are fully referenced and supported.
- Prepare various financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Support the year‑end audit process, including compilation of financial statements and note disclosures, preparation of audit working papers and reconciliations, and responding to auditors’ queries.
- Assist with annual SOC audit and liaise with departments and external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
- Utilize Sage Inteacct report writer to develop new reports or modify existing reports.
- Assist the Senior Manager,
Financial Reporting & Tax with ad‑hoc projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or commerce with a CPA designation.
- 3+ years in an audit role, preferably in a public accounting firm.
- Prior financial reporting experience under IFRS.
- Proficient in MS Excel (intermediate to advanced) and MS Office; SQL queries an asset.
- Experience creating reports with Power BI an asset.
- Experience with internal controls audit an asset.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Intacct Report Writer an asset.
- Understanding of securities and capital markets; experience in the securities brokerage industry an asset.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and time‑management skills.
- Results oriented and able to take ownership of responsibilities.
- Fluent in English; bilingual in French an asset.

Salary
Expected salary range: $83,000 – $100,000 CAD annually.
