Senior System Administrator - LAMP Contract role, Remote (anywhere in Canada/USA/South America, but must work EST with Canadian team). Start ASAP. End 12 months + renewable each year. Type: Contract. Hours: 40h/week. Rate: $39–$41/hr C2C (approx $80k–$84k/year). Client Location: US/Canada. Reporting directly to the System Team Lead, the Senior System Administrator is responsible for the overall technical management, operations, ongoing maintenance and support of large‑scale production websites and networks. Role Management and support of LAMP environment. Maintain vendor relationships, as required, for technical infrastructure of office and website systems. Work directly with Development Team Leads and Project Management to manage website projects and provide final sign‑off/approval for releases to production. Participate in planning and project discussions for various websites with Senior Management. Analyze and assess areas of risk to systems and recommend/implement changes as appropriate. Continuously assess network and systems security, ensuring a high level of data security and report concerns directly to the CTO. Perform systems and network architectural design for the site's network, including capacity planning, hardware, infrastructure, software integration, OS and software performance tuning. Act as single point of escalation for production issues, interfacing with required resources to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. Effectively manage risk, including monitoring, system redundancy and backups based on business requirements and acceptable risk. Provide technical assistance and consultation as required to all areas of the company, including Project Management, Sales, QA, Accounting,



Customer Service, Development and Systems departments. Perform special tasks and projects company‑wide, as assigned by the Team Lead. Responsibilities Manage a large distributed LAMP environment. Facilitate problem solving and collaboration, ensuring discussions and decisions lead toward closure, and intervene when necessary to aid the team in resolving issues. Be part of an on‑call rotation (12pm – 8pm EST, 1-week duration every 4 weeks). Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements 5+ years of experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). Minimum 2+ years of management/leadership experience in technology‑oriented organizations. Robust background supporting web servers. Experience with storage SAN (NFS and iSCSI). Experience with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, Logstash). Experience adding/removing nodes, expanding clusters, rebuilding clusters, and using InfluxDB. TCP/IP knowledge: BGP and OSPF. Hands‑on experience working with Linux in a Systems Administrative role. Hands‑on experience working with Advanced Network Administrative role including routing, switching and security. Exceptional problem determination and creative problem‑solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle. Strong documentation and organizational practices. Extensive experience with MySQL maintenance and troubleshooting. LAN/WAN/VPN setup and troubleshooting. Linux‑based and other firewall technology. Cloud technologies (OpenStack, oVirt, RHEV or similar). Bare metal hardware, SAN, switching and load‑balancing. Backup technologies. Systems security.
