Take on a vital role at Aecon as the Indigenous Engagement Manager for Northern communities, focusing on establishing trust and collaboration. This position emphasizes community values and respects regulatory requirements.
As the Indigenous Engagement Manager, you will report to the Vice-President of Indigenous Relations. You will address cultural considerations and promote employment opportunities while ensuring that Aecon’s operations align with community interests. Your experience with Indigenous practices will be key in fostering respect and collaboration in every project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strengthen relationships with Indigenous stakeholders
• Advise on cultural and social engagement best practices
• Encourage training and employment for Indigenous individuals
• Enhance Indigenous business integration into contracts
• Ensure all actions comply with regulatory obligations
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Indigenous Studies, Business, or similar field
• Experience engaging with Indigenous communities
• Solid understanding of Indigenous governance structures
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Capacity to travel to remote communities
