HDR is seeking a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer to contribute to reliable, resilient, and sustainable power systems. Primary Responsibilities Develop and review engineering deliverables, including studies, drawings, calculations, and specifications for complex substation projects. Assign tasks and provide technical direction to junior and mid-level team members. Perform quality control (QC) reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency across all deliverables. Collaborate with senior engineers to build specialized expertise and stay current with industry practices. Contribute to technical papers and presentations showcasing HDR’s capabilities. Mentor, train, and supervise EITs and designers as needed. Support cross-team QC reviews to maintain company and client standards. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of substation design experience, both indoor and outdoor. Experience developing design specifications, studies, reports, and analysis related to substation design. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Previous consulting firm experience. Experience using electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, CDEGS, and WinIGS. Experience developing technical standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience. Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.G., PE or P.Eng).
Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (e.G., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
