We are hiring on behalf of our client, a successful family‑owned commercial real estate organization with a diversified portfolio of operating businesses (not just real estate). They are seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial management across multiple entities.

Salary: $75K to $90,000 annually (with flexibility for candidates holding a CPA Canada designation)

Experience: Minimum 5 years

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, audits, and compliance reporting.
- Maintain accurate financial records and oversee internal controls.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis.
- Manage month‑end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Oversee bookkeeping functions including AP, AR, payroll, tax filings,



and government reporting.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and provide financial recommendations.
- Analyze tax implications and ensure timely filings.
- Report financial insights to ownership and senior leadership.
- Maintain relationships with external accountants, auditors, lenders, and insurance partners.

Qualifications

- Minimum five years in accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Yardi, and QuickBooks.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial systems.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced setting.
